You’d love your child to have a meaningful hobby instead of just screens and tuition.
But with so many options, you’re not sure which sport, which academy, or what kind of program will actually keep them motivated long term. That is where team sports come into play.

With safe, indoor training at SBA, your child trains consistently be it rain or shine. No weather cancellations, no crowded public courts, and no missed progress. Just a focused, controlled environment designed for real development, so improvement never stops.

You’ve heard that CCAs and sports achievements matter for schools and DSA, but there’s no clear roadmap.
You’re not sure how basketball can become a strength that supports their school applications, not just a weekly activity.

I started basketball as a kid with big dreams but very little structure.
Training was on outdoor courts, with whoever was free, doing whatever drills we could think of. Progress was slow, and many talented kids around me eventually gave up because they didn’t have proper guidance or a clear path.
After representing Singapore at the highest level, I realised something important:
young players don’t just need “more training” they need the right environment, a structured pathway, and coaches who truly care about their growth as people, not just as athletes.
That’s why I founded SBA.
SBA blends fun, motivation and discipline so kids actually enjoy coming to class while improving consistently.
Our coaches all come from competitive backgrounds, and we guide every child through a clear development journey from ages 3 to 18 from basics to game-ready, at a pace that suits them by developing our own curriculum.
Today, SBA supports thousands of players across Singapore.
Parents see their children becoming not only stronger and more skilful on the court, but also more confident, responsible and resilient in life.
SBA is more than an academy.
It’s a home and a community where every player is seen, supported, and guided to reach their full potential, on and off the court.

STEP 1:
A Clear Roadmap From Age 5 to 18
No more guessing what comes next.
Your child follows a structured pathway that grows with them, from basic coordination to competitive game play, so you can track progress at every stage.
STEP 2:
Real Athletes, Real Coaching, Real Progress
All sessions are led by coaches with competitive playing backgrounds.
We blend fun, motivation and discipline so kids enjoy coming to class, while actually improving week after week.

STEP 3:
Skill, Character & Confidence – Developed Together
SBA believes basketball is more than a sport.
Through our SCORE Method™, kids learn resilience, teamwork, focus and responsibility, the same traits that help them succeed in school and in life.

Growth You Can See
"Sent my 9-year-old for the camp and it was a great experience. Coaches were patient and clear, drills were structured, and he improved in basics like dribbling, passing and footwork. Most importantly, he enjoyed it and gained confidence. Recommended!"

A place where happiness lives
"Absolutely love the new Scholar Basketball court at Parkway Parade! The surface is smooth, the hoops are solid, and the whole setup just feels professional. It’s become my go-to spot to shoot around or play with friends. You can tell a lot of thought went into making it a fun and welcoming space for everyone. Great job, Scholar Basketball!“

Real Progress, Real Character
“Both of my boys have learned and improved so much not only on skills but also attitude and sportsmanship thanks to the dedicated and hardworking coaches. The communication with parents is also something we really appreciate—they regularly update us on the kids’ progress and what they’re working on.”
Life feels easier when you’re on top of everything, looking and feeling your best.

Our coaches are active players with packed schedules.
To maintain quality on court, we only open a limited number of trial slots each week.

Yes. Most kids who start with SBA are beginners. Our SCORE Method™ is designed to build strong foundations first, so your child will be placed in a group that matches their level.
We currently accept players from 5 to 18 years old, with different groups by age and ability. The trial helps us recommend the right pathway for your child.
If your child is 5 or above and can follow simple instructions, they can start. For younger players, we focus more on movement, coordination and fun games rather than “serious drills”.
Your child will:
Join a real training session
Be observed and assessed by our coaches
Receive feedback and a suggested development plan
You’ll also have a short chat with the coach after to discuss next steps.
Comfortable sportswear, sports shoes, a water bottle and a small towel. If they have their own ball, they can bring it – if not, we’ll provide one.
All sessions are run by trained coaches with competitive playing backgrounds. Safety, supervision and age-appropriate training are our top priorities.
Basketball can be a strong part of your child’s CCA profile. Through regular training, competitions and leadership opportunities, we help build a portfolio and confidence that supports school applications.
